Speculations on the possible causes to Juan Cole, currently Professor of modern Middle East and South Asian History at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, lost his position at Yale was in Chronicle Review, The Chronicle of Higher Education. Despite with recommendation of two departments to hire him, he was finally turned down for appointment. Does blog help or ruin career of an academic?
